Clinical Profile & Philosophy

My approach to therapy is person-centered with the integration of creative counseling and a deep commitment to finding the connection between mind, body, and spirit. My philosophy leans heavy on dialectical thinking and mindfulness to learn how to navigate life’s twists and turns. A major focus of mine is self-talk to enhance the relationship we have with ourselves. I believe the words we tell ourselves can be the access we need for achievement and resiliency. I tend to say I am my clients' biggest cheerleader through empowerment and validation. I also tend to say I could be my clients' biggest challenger through increasing insight into limited beliefs and actions. I strive to be the safe, trusting, strengthening space for my clients. And together, we can create an alliance for reflection and growth.

My experience includes working with all ages. I have a vast history of experience with individuals with a variety of diagnoses ranging from Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar I and II, Schizophrenia -affective to Personality Disorders.  I am also working towards earning my CSAC (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor) certification. I have worked with individuals that have a diversity of religious and cultural backgrounds as well as individuals that are within the LGBTQIA+ community.

I primarily use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and elements of Solution-Focused therapy. These therapeutic lenses allow me to guide my clients in:
  • strengthening their inner dialogue
  • learning and practicing new ways to decrease emotional suffering
  • identifying and working toward goals that align with personal values

My style is rooted in challenging and creating meaning to build a quality of life you want. I have a passion for helping others and look forward to supporting you in any way I can!

Fun Fact
