Clinical Profile & Philosophy
My experience has included working in outpatient and community-based settings with children and adults. I currently specialize in working with adults and couples utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, person-centered, and psychodynamic approaches. My basic goal is to help each client increase their understanding, insight, and awareness of themselves to facilitate personal and relational growth. I believe that when we better understand our motivations, beliefs, and values we can take an active role in making lasting changes in our lives. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship can be a place to grow and begin the healing process. I believe that every person has inherent value and worth and deserves a place to feel supported and cared for regardless of their past or current struggles. I am laid back in my work and try to accommodate various types of individuals and work collaboratively to be what they need me to be in therapy. As a therapist, I strive to be whatever my clients need in their journey—whether that’s a coach, a motivator, a listening ear, or a sounding board. My goal is to provide the support and guidance through use of evidence-based treatment modalities that help my client’s move toward greater emotional well-being and healthier relationships. I am a Gottman Level 2 Certified Marital Counselor and a Certified Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counselor.
