Clinical Profile & Philosophy

My journey into the counseling field began in 2019 at VCU’s Multiple Sclerosis clinic, where I spent 5 years conducting clinical research and working closely with individuals living with chronic illness. This experience shaped my understanding that no two people experience life challenges in the same way. During graduate training, I completed an internship with VCU Health’s Neuropsychology Department, providing therapeutic support to clients with a wide range of cognitive, emotional, and health-related concerns. These experiences laid the foundation for my holistic, person-centered approach to therapy.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and I believe that healing happens when people feel seen, understood, and empowered. My therapeutic philosophy is grounded in collaboration, compassion, and respect for each person’s unique story. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients build emotional awareness, develop coping skills, and foster psychological flexibility, acceptance, and self-compassion.

As a fluent Spanish speaker, I am committed to expanding access to culturally responsive mental health care. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and welcoming space where clients of all backgrounds can explore challenges, build resilience, and move toward meaningful growth.
