Clinical Profile & Philosophy

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, you can expect me to be professional and ethical, above all else. Equally important, you will be treated with respect and without judgement. Your identity, preferences, culture – all the things that make you unique – will be integrated into your care in the way that makes sense to YOU.

I’ve been working in community mental health for approximately 15 years in the non-profit sector, school settings, and my community performing a variety of roles such as individual therapist to adolescents, adults, and families, assessing and linking to treatment, crisis response, and advocacy. My theoretical approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, and I draw on solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed concepts, and person-centered therapy. Clients seem to appreciate my well-rounded experience and warm demeanor.

As your therapist, I’m hopeful that each session leaves you with something to ponder, an action to take, and/or feeling stronger than before. I recognize that we’re only human and we’re doing the best we can, while we can. My goal is to maintain the focus on you, to ebb and flow with your needs and concerns, and to provide real interactions that address your goals. Let’s work toward your goals together until you’re thriving again and have the confidence and newfound skills to handle life’s challenges on your own.

Fun Fact

I’ve had the good fortune of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, but the simple pleasures of catching fish, growing tomatoes, and collecting fresh eggs never gets old.
